Farnaz Maleki, known professionally as Saten, is an Iranian singer, songwriter, and lyricist. She was born on 26th Esfand, 1367 (March 17, 1989) in Tehran, Iran. Saten is primarily associated with the pop genre and holds a degree in English language. She comes from a family of five, with her father being a poet, her mother having a good singing voice, her sister being a painter, and her brother being a language teacher. This environment led Saten towards language learning and teaching. Alongside her singing career, she has been teaching languages for over ten years.
In 2013, Farnaz Maleki received a license from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. However, she was only allowed to perform for women or as a backing vocalist (singing behind the main vocalist). She had performances as a backing vocalist at Vahdat Hall, but this type of singing was not her goal. As a result, she started her artistic career underground using the stage name “Saten.”
Saten, as Farnaz Maleki, released her first song in 2007 (1386). She has written numerous songs and gained fame in 2018 (1397) when she collaborated with Amin Bani on the television series “Shahrzad.” She has also worked with underground artists such as Sasy Mankan and Hossein Tohi in 2009 (1388) for a period of time.
Apart from singing, Saten has a passion for hip-hop dancing and has been practicing dance for many years. She mostly creates her own music and writes her own lyrics. Saten has performed concerts in Istanbul.
In 2018 (1397), Saten emigrated from Iran and continues her artistic activities under the name “Saten.”
