Varoujan Hakhbandian, widely known as Varoujan, was an influential Iranian composer, songwriter, and arranger of Armenian descent. Born in Qazvin on December 4, 1936, and passing away in Tehran on September 17, 1977, Varoujan left a lasting legacy in the Iranian music industry.
Varoujan composed and wrote songs for prominent artists such as Ebi, Googoosh, Dariush, and Farhad Mehrad. One of his notable works is the music for the movie “Bar Faraaze Aasemaanha” (High in the Skies), composed shortly before his death. He also created music for several films, including “The Dagger” and “The Beehive.”
